What Is Celebrity Intelligence?

It’s stuff you shouldn’t care about… but will.
Celebrity culture is everywhere — and most of it is garbage.
AI slop. Unverified rumours. Breathless takes on stories that never happened. You want to enjoy it, but it all feels a bit icky. That’s why Celebrity Intelligence exists.

I hope to be your smartest friend who happens to know a lot about entertainment and everyone famous — and has the receipts. No BS, no badly sourced nonsense, no guilt. Just the real stories from the celebrity world that actually mean something: why we're obsessed, why we care, and what our interest in these stories say about all of us.

Here's my theory: the higher your IQ, the greater your need for celebrity gossip. You're welcome. Celebrity culture isn't the opposite of intelligence. It's a mirror. These stories — the feuds, the falls from grace, the improbable redemptions — are just Greek tragedies with better outfits and a publicist. The guilt is a social construct invented by people who think watching Succession counts as improving yourself while secretly mainlining the Below Deck at 2am like the rest of us.

I've spent 30 years in this world — from British gossip columns to shaping heat magazine in London, creating celebrity weeklies in America, and eventually becoming Editor in Chief of People and Us Weekly. I've covered every scandal, worked with Taylor Swift, Michelle Obama, Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian and Prince William — and probably every reality star you've watched in your sweatpants on a hungover Sunday.

I'm bringing all of that to your inbox: genuine scoops, sharp context, a healthy dose of silliness, and the kind of magazine curation that's basically a dying art. Smart, fun, and occasionally a bit unhinged.
